Five Year Club Development Plan

25 Jan 2023

Hi everyone,

With the 2023 season fast approaching, I hope everybody is looking forward to another successful season at the mighty Scholes CC.

In September, the cricket stopped but the hard work behind the scenes continued, with everybody’s hard work and generous donations, the work on the pavilion is pushing on.

These new facilities will be up there with the best in the Huddersfield Cricket League, if not the best in the league, I can’t thank everybody enough for all they’ve done for Scholes CC to make all this happen.

As a club I feel we need to keep pushing forward year upon year to continue to be one of the best clubs in the Huddersfield Cricket League, and this is exactly what we intend to do, 2022 was a fantastic year for upgrades and new equipment, everything that was outlined in last year’s AGM Has been accomplished, and again, that’s thanks to the hard work of the committee and members, and the generous donations from the sponsors, with the completion of the pavilion work scheduled for March, 2023 is also going to be a huge season for Scholes in terms of upgrades, but as I say, why stop there.

Attached is a letter outlining a five-year plan that we’ve put together for Scholes cricket club, and if we carry on going the way we are, I feel we could quite easily achieve this and more.

I’m hopeful the hybrid pitches that are mentioned in the letter could possibly be installed at some point in 2023, therefore, relieving the stress on the square and opening it up for more games of cricket to be played, these hybrid pitches are just one of the upgrades we intend to do at Scholes CC and as I mention these are a huge upgrade for us, and will massively benefit Scholes CC,  so we can have as much cricket played as possible.

This year’s AGM will take place on Sunday, the 26th of February, I would ask all members who are keen to find out the future plans for Scholes CC, to attend this AGM.

If anybody has any questions regarding anything that’s in the letter, please don’t hesitate to contact myself or a member of the committee, again, thank you very much for everybody’s efforts and kind donations.

Scholes CC is in a great place right now, and that’s thanks to everyone involved, thank you very much and  all the best.
