Last year was a tough & heartbreaking experience off the field for Scholes’ popular former captain and league winner James Noble. Tragically, James and his wife Abbey lost their second child, 6-months old Harry George in August 2020 following a brave battle with irreversible brain damage, despite the best efforts from the staff at both Barnsley Hospital and Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
They have pledged to help the hospital staff that worked so tirelessly with a series of events to raise much needed funds towards the two units. They’ve set a £50,000 goal which would be split evenly between the two charities.
A golf day has been organised for Thursday 9th September 2021 which will hopefully go some way to making a dent in the overall aim. There will also be an auction for a series of memorabilia, kindly donated by sporting organisations such as Yorkshire CCC and Huddersfield Town AFC. If you have anything that might be of interest to donate to the auction, please contact James on 07708 043140 or keithnoble407@hotmail.com.
There has also been a Just Giving page set up which you can donate to directly. Understandably, the pandemic has made circumstances tough for everyone but anything you can spare would be gratefully appreciated.
